My Miles 61

On November 29, 2010 the world became a quiter, sadder and still place. The sun wasn't as bright and there were no birds to sing. The world lost a good man to a tragic situation.

If I had just one more moment to see his face or feel his touch I would like to think that it would make all the difference and make his death that much easier but the fact of the matter is that I will never see his face while I live the remainder of my days here on this beautiful earth.

I wish that I would have taken the time to realize that his world was crashing but then again it's never that simple. I regret that I never took the time to tell Miles what I thought of him. How in unspoken words he was truly one of my most favorite people in the world.

I remember the first time I met Miles. Cory had brought him over to my dads house. It was shortly after I had moved to my dads and I wasn't exactly the happiest person in the world. I was about to start high school and I didnt know anyone so Cory being the nice guy he is brought a few friends over to cheer me up. Within the group was Miles vigil. I will never forget that evening. I laughed so hard. He was dating mindi at the time and he was bending and twisiting that girl like it was nothing! Hewas in his "Rock" phase at that time. I remember thinking this kid is freaking nuts! Why is this girl with him??? Little did I know that the boy who was handing this poor girl in my living room would end up making such a huge impact on my life.

I didnt see Miles again until we were seniors in high school and this is where he became my number 61. 61 was Miles high school football number. We started talking and hanging out in the same group of friends. The first dance of the year was Homecoming. Miles was finally single after being with the same girl for what seemed life forever.  I wanted Miles to ask me to homecoming so bad.... and he ask Michelle instead. My poor lil heart was broken. HA!!

It wasn't until Miles joined the Army and moved to New York that we became really close. I was sitting at work and recieved a random email through classmates.com. I thought it was junk so my first thought was to delete it but for some odd reason I opened it and it said that "Miles is looking for you". I laughed! I thought why in the world would Miles be looking for me? However it was really an email from him with his number. Miles and I began talking on a regular basis. He would call me in the middle of the night and tell me that I was the most beautiful girl that he had ever seen and how he "loved my cute lil feet ." Even if it was the alcohol talking I still loved to hear him say it! He would tell me all his dirty lil secrects that we never talked about the next day when he was sober LOL I would sit on my porch under neath the amazing New York sky and laugh with him for hours. We shared many intimate conversations that I hold very close to my heart.

I wrote Miles while he was serving in Afganistan and remember the feeling of just wanting him
to be home safe but even when he did return he still wasn't safe from the memories that haunted him at night.

As I sit in front of my lap top pounding cup after cup of coffee listening to the words of Jack Johnson with tears running down my cheeks I will never be able to write anything that  will come remotely  close to expressing what I feel right now. The pain and the sorrow that has come. It's sucks to today and it will suck tomorrow and the suckiness of it will never go away but my faith is strong and I know that everyday we spend on earth is a gift from God and when the gift of life is gone we are given the ultimate gift. The gift of standing by God's side. I know Miles is above watching over the people he left on earth anxiously waiting for us to join him.

I hope you have found a conclusion to your search for Walt Bayless.

I miss your ass every freakin day Miles...

Makai R.P Love

After only 9 hours of labor, blood, sweat and tears my lil boy was placed into my arms. Once again the giving birth experience was amazing. As painful as it can be the outcome is simply wonderful.

Dre compassionate through the labor. Normally women are yelling during labor but all I could do was squeeze his hand and thank the Lord.

Kaija is so excited to be a big sister! She has been such a big help! She stayed at the hospital all day on Wednesday and asked the nurse every time she came in if her brother was coming yet. Luckily my mom was there the whole time to take her out when they came in to "check" me. My mom came stayed all day Wednesday and came up every day and brought me and Dre grub. Without her we may have starved due to the blah hospital food  LOL Kaija stayed with her while we stayed at the hospital and took VERY good care of her as well as spoiling her rotten! Thanks Ma!!!

The stay at the hospital was starting to get long so Dre entertained me with a nice lil pole dance! Needless to say I laughed so hard it hurt! He got his moves from Kevin James on King of Queens and did a swell job!

Makai is amazing and so lovable! He makes the cutest faces and has the sweetest lil cry. He is a great baby. I love the middle of the night feedings when there is no one else around, no TV, dim lights and we can bond.

We named him Makai because I love that name :) The R is for my dad Ronald Scott Furniss and my Grandpa Ronald Furniss and the P is for my grandpa Phil Bake better known as Grandpa Cowboy. He was named after 3 very great men in my life! I just wish that my grandpas were still here to meet him.

My dad made the most AMAZING cradle for Makai. He told everyone that he was making it including Dre and Kaija and everyone did a good job of keeping it a secret. He was here with it when we came home from the hospital. I know my dad is crafty but this cradle is stunning!Teri made the mattress and the sheets due to its totally custom and a Furniss original!  THANKS Dad and Teri!!!

God has truly blessed me!

Utah Jazz

As most of you already know I am an avid Jazz fan so right now I am taking the time to vent, praise and talk about my boys!

First, Can my boys please get some credit for what they do?! The Jazz are so underrated. We have outstanding talent and people act like they are a bunch of scrubs, which is not the case in any way shape or form!

D-Will is one of the BEST players in the NBA and I don't give a damn what anybody says! He doesn't get near the respect that he deserves. He is a team player and leader that puts up great numbers.

Booze- I love the way he has played in the playoffs. I think he is making his way back into Jazz fans hearts. I just hope that he isn't just playing for a new contract.

Wesley Matthews- DAMN!!! This boy is a champ! He doesnt back down from anyone...not even Kobe! I love the intensity that he brings to the team.

Milsap- Now we all know my love for Milsap and what more is there to say then he is a BEAST! He plays where ever Sloan wants him and he plays well! He doenst throw a fit when he has to play his least favorite position. He sucks it up and plays hard all the time. LOVE HIM!

Ronnie Price- This boy comes into every game with ATTITUDE! He may not put up huge numbers what he makes up for it with heart, determination and that fact the he comes in with a vengeance!

I could go on and comment on every player but I will spare you!

GO JAZZ!!!!

Good Times

Kaija has been having a bit of a rough time with getting ready for the baby to come so Dre and I picked her up early from school and took her to the duck park. It was fun but there were hardly any ducks! It was all seagulls and Canadian Geese but we still had fun. We went to the backside of the pond where no one ever goes and were able to get close to all the feathery friends!

I love this picture!

Preggo!

It was brought to my attention that I haven't written about being pregnant and have no pictures. First... there is a reason that I have no pictures!! I have gained 16 pounds so far. I go back to the doctor next week and am hoping that I only gained 2 pounds again. I have been super physical with moving so I hopefully I have burned off some calories :)

Baby Boy is very active at all hours! Kaija felt him move for the first time a week ago and the look on her face was classic! It was so funny! I don't think she really thought there was a baby growing in my belly until that exact moment. We are still deciding between Malakhi and Makhi for his name and I think we are gunna wait to see him and then decide.

I am more nervous for baby boy to come then I was with Kaija! I think about the labor and delivery all the time which never worried before but excited none the less.

Kaija is ready for her lil brother to be here. She tells everyone that "My mom is almost done growing my baby brother" She will be sharing a room with him at first and has already made room for him. She is such an amazing girl! It blows me away. When I found out I was pregnant with her I thought God was crazy but he knew exactly what he was doing! She is my saving grace!

Dishwasher Disaster

I came home the other day to find Dre cleaning up the kitchen which was very nice of him. I noticed that he was loading the dishwasher but didnt think anything of it. About 15 minutes later we left to run some errands and upon our return we walked into a flood of BUBBLES! My darling Dre has used dish soap instead of dishwasher soap and TONS of it! The enter kitchen was cover in bubbles and water!

Although I appreciate him helping and he gets an A for effort he also gets the Bonehead of the week award!

This is only a fourth of the mess LOL

Too Hairy???

The other day I was in the kitchen making dinner and Kaija was at her art desk when she came up to me and told me that she was ready for me to pull off the tape. I had no clue what she was talking about but she had tape on her legs, arms, eye brows, etc....  I asked her why she had tape all over her and she told me it was because she was too hairy and the tape was there to remove all the hair she has. I told her that it was going to hurt and wouldn't remove all the hair but she wanted me to do it anyway LOL She is so funny with her ideas of removing hair! Needless to say she fortunately still has eyebrows and unfortunately if you ask her she still has leg and arm hair.
